My husband, Justin, and I have been married for 5 years. We have 3-year-old twin boys, Hudson and Thayer, and a little girl named Annaleigh, who is 18 months old. I love being a wife and mother - they have been two of the biggest blessings of my life.
Justin graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and later graduated from Ranger School. He spent 15 months in Iraq, where he was entrusted with the lives of 42 soldiers. While he was deployed, he was hit by IEDs on seven separate occasions. He completed his service and returned home, where he was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. My husband's dedication to overcoming his disability was my inspiration for creating Beyond Glory - Supporting our Veterans.
This year, we took our children to the local Veterans Memorial park, which includes a sculpture similar to the national Vietnam Veterans Memorial, including the names of our fallen military engraved on it. It was so touching to see the children react to seeing the names of service members who fought to protect them and their future.
One of our favorite family traditions is dressing up in matching family Christmas pajamas and driving through different neighborhoods, looking at Christmas lights. It is a magical season, but seeing the extra sparkle in our children’s eyes makes it that much better. Christmas is a favorite holiday in our family!
