Mrs. Hawaii International®

Lori Revels

My family has been living on Oahu, Hawaii for over two years now. My husband and I have been married for ten years and have four children.  I'm on the PTA board and Health & Safety board at Aliamanu Elementary School.  I also enjoy working with the youth my church.  I was raised with a spirit of thankfulness and good ethical values that I am passing along to my children. I strive to be a positive role model, and this is such a wonderful opportunity to reach out as an example to my community, state, country and world.

I believe in using the talents I posses to the best of my ability. That is why my platform is 'No Child Left Behind'.  The No Child Left Behind Act has caused some serious problems in the education system.  While the act's authors and supporters had good intentions, the method of execution desperately needs to improvement.  Private and home school options are not possible for everyone.  They should feel confident in the public school system.  I have submitted ideas to the Hawaiian Board of Curriculum and am investigating new ideas, talking to parents and educators about their concerns and concepts.  I am doing my part in making education a positive experience for our children.

The title of Mrs. Hawaii International 2008 has enabled me to reach more corporations and individuals with the intent of improving education.  Becoming Mrs. International® will provide me with more needed exposure that will aide in continuing my goal of educational improvement.  I am confident that I can to make education a good experience for our children here on the islands and abroad.
