Michelle Beckwith

Michelle was inducted into The Doctors Speakers' Bureau in 2002, which has recently been renamed The Foundations for Wellness Professionals.  This organization is a vehicle through which Michelle influences her community.  Michelle is driven by the fact that she survived melanoma, but needlessly lost her father to prostate cancer.

Through the FWP, Michelle conducts local health screenings and wellness health talks. She was recently honored by being named a National Spokesperson for Us Too, a prostate cancer education and support group, http://www.ustoo.org. Awareness and education result in early detection and action that can save more lives. Michelle's passion for this cause comes from knowing that prostate cancer is a family disease.

Michelle is a professional pianist and has taught music for twenty-two years, using training that she received as a music major from Olivet Nazarene University.  She also studied under renowned Jazz arranger and composer Al Frandsen. She has received numerous piano contest awards in Gospel Music. She has performed annually with Creative Christmas. http://www.creativechristmasonline.com

Michelle and her husband Chris were celebrating their twelfth wedding anniversary the day she was crowned Mrs. Illinois on May 3.
